Netgear WAX610Y AX1800 WiFi 6 Outdoor Access Point for Business Networks
AX1800 Dual Band PoE Multi-Gig Insight Managed WiFi 6 Outdoor Access Point
Get powerful and reliable WiFi 6 connectivity outdoors for all your devices, even in high-density environments. Simplified enterprise-grade security and networking for the smaller business.

Description:

The Netgear WAX610Y is an AX1800 dual-band WiFi 6 outdoor access point designed to deliver stable, high-capacity wireless coverage in demanding outdoor and semi-outdoor environments. Built for business use, it combines high throughput performance with simplified cloud management and robust environmental protection, making it suitable for deployments in schools, hospitality venues, and enterprise campuses.

Engineered for performance and flexibility, it supports simultaneous 2.4GHz and 5GHz operation to improve overall network efficiency and reduce congestion in busy environments. The unit is powered via PoE and includes a 2.5Gbps Ethernet uplink for improved wired backbone capacity, ensuring the wireless network is not bottlenecked by traditional gigabit limitations.

Part number / SKU: WAX610Y-100EUS

Features:

Outdoor WiFi 6 Performance for High-Density Environments
The WAX610Y is designed to maintain stable connectivity where user density is high and interference is common. It supports up to 250 maximum users with approximately 30 concurrent active users, making it suitable for public-facing or shared-access environments.

Typical deployment scenarios include:

• Schools and educational campuses
• Hotels and guest accommodation networks
• Restaurants, cafes, and entertainment venues
• Conference and event spaces

By leveraging WiFi 6 efficiency improvements, it reduces latency and improves throughput consistency even when many devices are connected at the same time.

Rugged Design for Outdoor Deployment
Built to withstand challenging environmental conditions, the WAX610Y carries an IP55 rating for protection against dust and water ingress. It is engineered to operate reliably under exposure to sun, rain, frost, hail, and snow, making it suitable for long-term outdoor installations.

Its durable construction ensures consistent performance in variable climates without requiring constant maintenance or enclosure upgrades.

High-Speed Wired Connectivity and Power Efficiency
A key advantage of the WAX610Y is its 2.5G Ethernet port, which supports higher backhaul speeds compared to standard gigabit connections. This ensures that wireless performance is supported by sufficient wired capacity, particularly in multi-user environments.

Power is delivered via PoE, reducing installation complexity and eliminating the need for separate power sourcing at the mounting location.

Key connectivity details:

• 1 x 2.5G Ethernet port (backward compatible with 1G/100M networks)
• PoE support for simplified deployment
• Optimised for high-throughput wireless backhaul

Flexible Network Control and Segmentation
The device supports up to 8 separate wireless networks (SSIDs), allowing segmentation of traffic across different user groups and devices. This enables structured network control for administrators managing mixed-use environments.

Network isolation capabilities include:

• Separation of admin, employee, guest, and IoT traffic
• VLAN support for structured network segmentation
• Peer-to-peer isolation to prevent guest device communication

These controls improve security posture and reduce risk in shared-access environments.

Mesh Networking and Easy Deployment Options
The WAX610Y integrates with compatible Netgear access points to create seamless mesh WiFi coverage without complex cabling requirements. It can operate alongside WAX610, WAX610Y, WAC540, and WAC564 devices to extend coverage across larger sites.

Installation is designed to be straightforward, with support for wall or ceiling mounting using included hardware. Configuration and ongoing management can be handled through the Netgear Insight app for remote administration and monitoring.
