3D sound card

Several sound cards are able to manipulate sound so that the listener thinks that they are in a 3D environment. Sounds from a normal stereo headphone are not only perceived as if they are coming from the left, right or centre, but it seem as if they are above, below as well as at different distances away from the listener.

To experience what 3D sound may sound like using a 3D audio card, you may search youtube for "virtual barber shop". No need for a 3D audio headset or 3D sound card required for this sound clip.
